Colorimetric and Fluorescence-Based Detection of Mercuric Ion Using a Benzothiazolinic Spiropyran
A merocyanine dye as a p-toluenesulfonate salt was synthesized. The structure of the dye was characterized using IR, NMR, HR-MS and single crystal X-ray crystallography.

Light‐Modulated Humidity Sensing in Spiropyran Functionalized MoS2 Transistors
A hybrid material combining molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) and spiropyran for humidity and light responsiveness is developed. Ultraviolete (UV) irradiation tunes the wettability of MoS2 decorated by spiropyran, enhancing the humidity sensitivity. Water adsorption and photochromic doping significantly alter the optoelectronic properties of MoS2 flakes ...

Photoacid‐Mediated Controllable Gelation in a Chemical Reaction Cycle
Visible‐light‐driven photoacid enables programmable hydrogelation in a dissipative CRN: irradiation intensity tunes sol‐gel timing and mechanics via in‐situ formaldehyde formation from hexamethylenetetramine. ABSTRACT We explore the use of a photoacid in a chemical reaction cycle, which allows for the controlled sol‐to‐gel transition of a saccharide ...

Synthesis, Structure, and Thin Film Optical Properties of a Chiral Benzothiazole‐Derived Squaraine
Solution‐processed thin films can be sensitive to the choice of solvent and thermal annealing, which we explore for a chiral benzothiazole squaraine. We observe peculiarly shaped excitonic circular dichroism in uniaxially anisotropic thin films, in which the presumed Davydov bands are spatially distributed exclusively into in‐plane (UDC) and out‐of ...

Flow Cytometry: A Novel Approach for Indirect Assessment of Protamine Deficiency by CMA3 Staining, Taking into Account the Presence of M540 or Apoptotic Bodies [PDF]
Background Chromomycin A3 (CMA3) staining, either by the slide method or fluorescence microscopy, is widely used for indirect assessment of protamine deficiency in a semen sample. Flow cytometry is the most suitable tool to improve assessment accuracy,

Unusual Swelling Behavior of Hydrogels Modified with Spiropyran as Appendage or Crosslinker
Not so innocent after all—spiropyran crosslinkers in methylenebisacrylamide‐crosslinked poly(acrylamide‐co‐acrylic acid) hydrogels increase crosslinking density, but also, counterintuitively, increase swelling. Charge complexation, cooperative chemo‐mechanical effects, and aggregation may explain these observations.

A series of photo‐responsive polymers are prepared by a facile one‐pot in situ synthesis strategy, where RTP modules and photochromic units are systematically integrated into one polymer system. The triplet‐singlet Förster resonance energy transfer (TS‐FRET) between the donor and acceptor enables the material to exhibit time‐dependent phosphorescence ...
