Mersin’in Tarsus ilcesine bagli bir orman koyu iken, 1972 yilinda kasaba statusu kazanan Sebil, 1990’da Camliyayla’ya baglanmistir. 1970’li yillara kadar ekonomisi daha cok orman isciligi ve hayvansal uretime dayali olan kasabada, bu yillardan sonra bitkisel uretim agirlik kazanmaya baslamistir.
