Rhoifolin Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis by Targeting NMNAT1 and Activating SIRT1‐FOXO1 Signaling to Enhance ILC3s Effector Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rhoifolin directly targets NMNAT1, thereby activating nicotinamide salvage pathway and promoting intracellular NAD+ biosynthesis. Elevated NAD+ levels enhance SIRT1 activity, leading to FOXO1 deacetylation and nuclear translocation. Nuclear FOXO1 subsequently binds to the IL‐22 promoter, upregulating IL‐22 transcription and potentiating ILC3 effector ...

Characteristics of intestinal-related lymphoid hyperplasia in children and its correlation with intussusception of children

open access: yesBMC Pediatrics, 2022
Background Primary intussusception in children is a common acute abdominal disease. The cause of this disease is still not fully understood. Many articles have reported that children with intussusception are often accompanied by hyperplasia of mesenteric

Perforation of the Small Intestine with Acute Peritonitis Caused by Enterobius Vermicularis [PDF]

open access: yesFolia Medica, 2020
Perianal and perineal pruritus is often associated with Enterobius vermicularis in children. Although this roundworm is common in pediatric practice, most doctors are unaware that it can cause appendicular colic with/or appendicitis, severe urogenital ...

Neural modulation of bovine mesenteric lymph node contraction [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, 1993
Spontaneous isometric contractions and field‐evoked responses were recorded in vitro from strips of bovine mesenteric lymph node capsule. Field stimulation (0.3 ms pulses, 60 V nominal, 2 min trains) at frequencies > or = 2 Hz evoked a frequency‐dependent increase in baseline tension which was maximum at frequencies > or = 16 Hz.

Engineering Ultrastable Intrinsic Radicals: Graphene Quantum Dots With NIR‐II Emission for Dynamic Deep‐Tissue Bioimaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stable radicals are attractive for photonic and quantum information technologies but are often limited by instability. We stabilize intrinsic radicals in graphene quantum dots via 2D polymerization of perylene derivatives, where bilayer defect confinement suppresses quenching (100–500 K).

A Study on Lymph Node Distribution in the Main Lymph Node Area for Left-sided Colon Cancer

open access: yesJournal of the Anus, Rectum and Colon
Objectives: In advanced left-sided colorectal cancer, cutting the root of the inferior mesenteric artery (IMA) branching from the aorta is recommended for complete lymph node dissection. However, this procedure sometimes causes severe complications. This

Intrasplenic Thymus Organogenesis from Injectable Tissue Fragments Restores Functional T‐Cell Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Clinical intramuscular thymus transplantation yields only short‐lived efficacy and marginal therapeutic benefits. Benefiting from the spleen's intrinsic strengths—rapid vascular perfusion, abundant developmental factors, and resident progenitors—the intrasplenic thymic grafts achieve robust thymic regeneration and substantial T‐cell reconstitution ...

Comparison of Minimally Invasive Colectomy Between Intra‐ Versus Extra‐Corporeal Anastomosis Technique (COMMIT Study): Short‐Term Analysis

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This multicenter propensity score‐matched study of 3213 patients compared intracorporeal (IA) and extracorporeal (EA) anastomosis during minimally invasive colectomy. IA was associated with a significantly lower incidence of intraoperative blood loss ≥ 200 mL (2.5% vs.

Impact of Histopathological Response on Outcomes After Surgical Resection Following Carbon‐Ion Radiotherapy for Pancreatic Cancer With Arterial Involvement

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Carbon‐ion radiotherapy (CIRT) provides superior dose distribution and higher biological effectiveness than conventional X‐ray radiotherapy and has emerged as a promising component of multidisciplinary treatment for advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
