Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

The KW-boundary hybrid digital waveguide mesh for room acoustics applications [PDF]
The digital waveguide mesh is a discrete-time simulation used to model acoustic wave propagation through a bounded medium. It can be applied to the simulation of the acoustics of rooms through the generation of impulse responses suitable for auralization

Mesh infection after inguinal hernia mesh repair
Infection after repair of groin hernia is rare, even since the advent of mesh repair. The debate remains open about antibiotic prophylaxis.Assess incidence of this kind of complication, determine criteria of diagnosis and strategy of therapy by examining the collective experience of 32 surgeons.Fifty surgeons were asked to report their experience with ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Current mesh reduction techniques, while numerous, all primarily reduce mesh size by successive element deletion (e.g. edge collapses) with the goal of geometric and topological feature preservation.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

THE LONG-TERM RESULTS OF ENDOSURGICAL TREATMENT OF PARESISOPHAGEAL HERNIAS
Introduction. There is a perception that the use of a mesh for surgical treatment of paraesophageal hernias significantly reduces the number of recurrences. But considering the numerous complications associated with mesh reinforcement, there is a need of
