Fast mesh-based motion estimation employing an embedded block model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A fast algorithm for mesh-based motion estimation employing uniform triangular patches is proposed. The technique utilises an embedded block model to estimate the motion of the mesh grid points.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Laparoscopic parastomal hernia repair: A modified technique of mesh placement in Sugarbaker procedure

open access: yesJournal of Minimal Access Surgery, 2019
Introduction: Conventional surgery for parastomal hernia entails primary suture repair or stoma relocation. Laparoscopic surgery has advantages of less pain, faster post-operative recovery and better cosmesis.

Quad meshing

open access: yes, 2012
Triangle meshes have been nearly ubiquitous in computer graphics, and a large body of data structures and geometry processing algorithms based on them has been developed in the literature. At the same time, quadrilateral meshes, especially semi-regular ones, have advantages for many applications, and significant progress was made in quadrilateral mesh ...

An efficient processor allocation strategy that maintains a high degree of contiguity among processors in 2D mesh connected multicomputers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Two strategies are used for the allocation of jobs to processors connected by mesh topologies: contiguous allocation and non-contiguous allocation. In non-contiguous allocation, a job request can be split into smaller parts that are allocated to non ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Laparoscopic preperitoneal mesh repair using a novel self-adhesive mesh

open access: yesJournal of Minimal Access Surgery, 2011
Prosthetic mesh is now used routinely in inguinal hernia repairs, although its fixation is thought to be a potential cause of chronic groin pain. The Parietene ProGrip™ (TYCO Healthcare) mesh, which is semi-resorbable and incorporates self-fixing ...

FastM: Design and Evaluation of a Fast Mobility Mechanism for Wireless Mesh Networks

open access: yes, 2009
Although there is a large volume of work in the literature in terms of mobility approaches for Wireless Mesh Networks, usually these approaches introduce high latency in the handover process and do not support realtime services and applications. Moreover,
