Time-varying mesh stiffness calculation of cracked spur gears

Engineering Failure Analysis, 2014
Abstract Considering the misalignment of gear root circle and base circle and accurate transition curve, an improved mesh stiffness model for a healthy gear pair is proposed and validated by the finite element method (FEM). Based on the improved method, three mesh stiffness calculation methods (method 1: straight lines for crack path and limiting ...

Meshing Stiffness Analysis of Gear Using the Ishikawa Method

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Meshing synthesizing stiffness of teeth is the comprehensive effect of all teeth in the whole meshing region, which is related to elastic deformation of single tooth, comprehensive elastic deformation of a pair of teeth and overlap ratio of gear. This paper adopts Ishikawa method which is commonly used in the calculation of tooth deformation.

Analysis of Gear Static Transmission Error and Mesh Stiffness

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
In this paper, the object of study is one pair increasing gear with building a two-dimensional plane model in ANSYS. According to the gears meshing theory, considering the gear deformation, solve the static transmission error and the gear mesh stiffness in different conditions.

Dynamics of gear meshing: stiffness evaluation and vibration

2004
In the present paper we are concerned with vibration problems in gears mesh. A 2D model is developed, which is able to create the teeth profile for the contact profile and the tooth fillet for a very large classes of 2Dgears. A single degree of freedom model is developed using lumped masses.
