Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

齿根裂纹与轮齿啮合刚度关联规律研究

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2014
Gear mesh stiffness is the foundation of the study on gear dynamics.Taking the spur gear as research object, the finite element model of the spur gear with root crack is established, and the accurate calculation method of gear mesh stiffness is proposed ...

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Evaluation model of mesh stiffness for spur gear with tooth tip chipping fault

open access: yes, 2021
Tooth tip chipping that the top of a tooth breaks away from lower portion is one of the common gear faults which will affect the dynamic characteristics of gears.

A convenient scheme for coupling a finite element curvilinear mesh to a finite element voxel mesh: application to the heart

open access: yesBioMedical Engineering OnLine, 2006
Background In some cases, it may be necessary to combine distinct finite element meshes into a single system. The present work describes a scheme for coupling a finite element mesh, which may have curvilinear elements, to a voxel based finite element ...

Experimental and Numerical Modal Analysis of Composite Sandwich Structures Using Surfboards as Model Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...

Numerical Modelling of the Gear Mesh Stiffness

open access: yes, 2017
This master's thesis deals with the design of FEM model of gear pair with an intention to find out how stiffness changes during meshing. It firstly describes the necessary knowledge needed to analyse the problem, like the geometry of an involute tooth ...

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...
