The least‐squares meshfree method

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2001
AbstractA new efficient meshfree method is presented in which the first‐order least‐squares method is employed instead of the Galerkin's method. In the meshfree methods based on the Galerkin formulation, the source of many difficulties is in the numerical integration. The current method, in this respect, has different characteristics and is expected to

Analysis of transient dynamic fracture parameters of cracked functionally graded composites by improved meshfree methods

Theoretical and applied fracture mechanics (Print), 2017
In this paper, computation and analysis for transient dynamic stress intensity factors (DSIFs) of two-dimensional fracture problems of functionally graded materials (FGMs) by extended meshfree methods are described.

LEAST-SQUARES MESHFREE COLLOCATION METHOD

International Journal of Computational Methods, 2012
A least-squares meshfree collocation method is presented. The method is based on the first-order differential equations in order to result in a better conditioned linear algebraic equations, and to obtain the primary variables (displacements) and the dual variables (stresses) simultaneously with the same accuracy.

Conforming local meshfree method

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2010
AbstractThis work is motivated by the current numerical limitation in multiscale simulation of ductile fracture processes at scale down to the microstructure size and aims to overcome the difficulties in 3D complicated mesh generation and locally extremely large strain analysis (local mesh distortion).

MESHFREE METHODS AND THEIR COMPARISONS

International Journal of Computational Methods, 2005
In recent years, one of the hottest topics in computational mechanics is the meshfree or meshless method. Increasing number of researchers are devoting themselves to the research of the meshfree methods, and a group of meshfree methods have been proposed and used to solve the ordinary differential equations (ODEs) or the partial differential equations (
