A design method of internal meshing gear based on variable center meshing line (VCML) is presented in this paper. The meshing line is an arc line connecting the intersection of the indexing circle connecting the inner and outer gears and the intersection of the tooth top circle, and the center of the line of engagement freely slides on the vertical ...

Vibration Characteristics of Rotor System Considering Gear Meshing
Volume 7A: Structures and Dynamics, 2019Abstract Spiral bevel gears are essential units in the accessories system of the aero-engine. The rotor transmits torque to the accessories system through the spiral bevel gears, which also change the direction of rotation. With the wide application of elastic support and the reduction in the number of bearing frames, the fulcrum ...

Transmission characteristics of copper mesh at 118.8 μm
Infrared Physics & Technology, 1995Abstract An experimental investigation of the optical transmission characteristics of an electroformed copper wire mesh at an angle of 45° to incident radiation at 118.8 μm is reported. It is shown that the transmission coefficient is highly sensitive to the input beam polarization and the results obtained are in good agreement with those reported ...

Altering surface characteristics of polypropylene mesh via sodium hydroxide treatment
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, 2012AbstractIncisional hernias represent a serious and common complication following laparotomy. The use of synthetic (e.g. polypropylene) meshes to aid repair of these hernias has considerably reduced recurrence rates. While polypropylene is biocompatible and has a long successful clinical history in treating hernias and preventing reherniation, this ...

Performance Characteristics of Metal Mesh Foil Bearings: Predictions vs. Measurements
Volume 7B: Structures and Dynamics, 2013Proven low-cost gas bearing technologies are sought to enable more compact rotating machinery products with extended maintenance intervals. The paper presents an analysis for predicting the static and dynamic forced performance characteristics of metal mesh foil bearings (MMFBs) which comprise of a top foil supported on a layer of metal mesh of certain

Filtration Characteristics of Polyester Mesh (Pall) Micropore Blood Transfusion Filter
Archives of Surgery, 1976Stored human blood of varying age was passed through polyester mesh (Pall) micropore blood transfusion (pore size, 40 mu). Passage through the filter resulted in decreased screen filtration pressure (SFP) of the blood and increased filter weight. Mumerous microaggregates were removed, but SFP did not return to normal after filtration.

Characteristic Boundary Conditions for Non-Orthogonal, Moving Meshes
47th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting including The New Horizons Forum and Aerospace Exposition, 2009Boundary conditions to the compressible Navier-Stokes equations are developed for the case of deformable, generalized coordinates. The general theory is based on a idea of Halpern [SIAM J. Math. Analy., Vol. 22(5), pp. 1256–1283, 1991] which, in the inviscid case, reduces to standard characteristic treatment and thus logically extends the work of ...

Acceleration techniques for the characteristic method in unstructured meshes
Annals of Nuclear Energy, 2002Abstract Acceleration techniques are essential for the efficient iterative solution of the transport equation in reactor applications. We present two new acceleration techniques for the method of characteristics in unstructured meshes. The DPN scheme generalizes a previous asymptotic acceleration by incorporating a general DPN angular approximation ...

Elastic characteristics of ferrocement reinforced with woven meshes
Mechanics of Composite Materials, 1995Applying structural mechanics methods for composite materials, we have worked out a procedure for predicting the elasticity modulus, the shear modulus, and Poisson's ratio for ferrocement taking into account the elastic properties of the components, the wire diameter, the mesh size, and the distance between the meshes.
