Improving Performance of Wireless Mesh Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Applications, 2013
Inspite of many advancements in multihop multiradio Wireless Mesh Network, it experiences frequent link failures because of increasing bandwidth demand, channel interference, etc. The Autonomous Reconfiguration System (ARS) presented in this paper helps Wireless Mesh Network to overcome such failures, thereby improving the performance of Wireless Mesh ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Rome: Performance and Anonymity using Route Meshes [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE INFOCOM 2009, 2009
Deployed anonymous networks such as Tor focus on delivering messages through end-to-end paths with high anonymity. Selection of routers in the anonymous path construction is either performed randomly, or relies on self-described resource availability at routers, making systems vulnerable to low-resource attacks.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Meshing performance investigations on oblique worm drive

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing
This paper proposed an innovative approach to oblique worm drive by introducing a specific inclination angle. The investigation focused on the meshing performance of oblique ZA worm drive by varying the crossed axis angle. The meshing geometric models of

Diagnosis of Combination Faults in a Planetary Gearbox using a Modulation Signal Bispectrum based Sideband Estimator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper presents a novel method for diagnosing combination faults in planetary gearboxes. Vibration signals measured on the gearbox housing exhibit complicated characteristics because of multiple modulations of concurrent excitation sources, signal ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...
