Gearbox fault diagnosis under different operating conditions based on time synchronous average and ensemble empirical mode decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, a new method is proposed by combining ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) with order tracking techniques to analyse the vibration signals from a two stage helical gearbox.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Research on the Design and Meshing Performance Analysis of Face Gear Face Gear Meshing Nutation Reducers

open access: yesMathematics
In view of the problems of the complex design, difficult machining, and high manufacturing cost of a traditional nutation reducer, this paper intends to design a nutation reducer and study its meshing performance.

New Design of Hy-Vo Chain Based on the Ultra-Small Rolling Radius

open access: yesMachines, 2022
To improve the system meshing performance and the chain stability, a totally new type Hy-Vo chain with an ultra-small rolling radius is proposed in this research. According to the rolling theory of the rocker pin, the design method and the meshing system

Performance Analysis of Zigbee Mesh Topology by Varying Trajectory

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Applications, 2016
paper the effect on Zigbee mesh topology is analyzed by moving the nodes at different trajectories at different speed. The nodes are moved by using Helbert Space-filling curve, hexagon and outer square trajectory. The effect is analyzed in terms of load, delay and traffic received.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Multilevel MDA-Lite Paris Traceroute

open access: yes, 2018
Since its introduction in 2006-2007, Paris Traceroute and its Multipath Detection Algorithm (MDA) have been used to conduct well over a billion IP level multipath route traces from platforms such as M-Lab.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Mesh update techniques for free-surface flow solvers using spectral element method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper presents a novel mesh-update technique for unsteady free-surface Newtonian flows using spectral element method and relying on the arbitrary Lagrangian--Eulerian kinematic description for moving the grid.
