Direct Meshless Local Petrov–Galerkin (DMLPG) method: A generalized MLS approximation [PDF]
The Meshless Local Petrov{Galerkin (MLPG) method is one of the popular meshless methods that has been used very successfully to solve several types of boundary value problems since the late nineties. In this paper, using a generalized moving least squares (GMLS) approximation, a new direct MLPG technique, called DMLPG, is presented.

Buckling analysis of axially functionally graded carbon nanotubes-reinforced columns using the meshless method [PDF]
The spread of different material processing technologies has led to the novel methods developed for reinforcing structural members. One of these approaches is to add the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with different distributions through the matrix phase of ...

In this article, the influence of important parameters on the size‐dependent thermoelastic behavior of functionally graded magneto‐electro‐thermo‐elastic microcylinders (FGMEE) is studied by means of modified stress couple theory and under the influence of combined mechanical‐thermal‐magnetic loads.

In this article, the effects of chemical reaction and Joule heating on MHD generalized Couette flow between two vertical porous plates with induced magnetic field and Newtonian heating/cooling have been investigated. The mathematical model used for the MHD generalized Couette flow takes into account the effect of viscous dissipation.

Abstract This study proposes a generalized coordinate smoothed particle hydrodynamics (GCSPH) method coupled with an overset method using the total Lagrangian formulation for solving large deformation and crack propagation problems. In GCSPH, the physical space is decomposed into multiple domains, each of which is mapped to a generalized space to avoid

Mechanical Properties of Functionally Graded Concrete Lining for Deep Underground Structures
With the mining depth of coal resources increasing, the thickness of traditional lining for deep mines becomes large. The bearing capacity of the outer lining cannot be fully utilized, so a new type of functionally graded lining structure (FGL) with radial Young’s modulus varying in gradient is proposed.

Due to the symmetry feature in nature, fractional differential equations precisely measure and describe biological and physical processes. Multiterm time‐fractional order has been introduced to model complex processes in different physical phenomena.

Adaptive Numerical Method for Approximation of Traffic Flow Equations
For a long time now, traffic equations have been considered, and different modeling has been done for it. In this article, we work on the macroscopic model, especially the most famous light model. Because these models are among the stiff and shocking problems, theoretical methods do not give good answers to these problems.

An advanced meshless technique for large deformation analysis of metal forming [PDF]
The large deformation analysis is one of major challenges in numerical modelling and simulation of metal forming. Although the finite element method (FEM) is a well-established method for modeling nonlinear problems, it often encounters difficulties for ...

Exponentially Fitted Element‐Free Galerkin Approach for Nonlinear Singularly Perturbed Problems
As it is well recognized that conventional numerical schemes are inefficient in approximating the solutions of the singularly perturbed problems (SPP) in the boundary layer region, in the present work, an effort has been made to propose a robust and efficient numerical approach known as element‐free Galerkin (EFG) technique to capture these solutions ...
