The mesiodens is the most common supernumerary tooth. It can be found in both the erupted and the impacted states. A case of a developing mesiodens located entirely in soft tissue is described. The lesion presented as a pedunculated palatal mass. No case of soft-tissue mesiodens has been previously reported.

Supernumerary teeth "mesiodens". Case report.
Minerva stomatologica, 2003The supernumerary tooth is an anomaly of dental eruption that is not rare to find in the clinical practice. Among the supernumerary teeth the "mesiodens" is most frequent. The mesiodens is found in the region of the superior central incisors and it can be the cause of many complications.
