Quantitative serology for SARS-CoV-2 using self-collected saliva and finger-stick blood
Convenient and widespread serology testing may alter the trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study seeks to leverage high-throughput, multiplexed serologic assays, which have been adopted as benchmarks for vaccine efficacy, to support large-scale ...

Saliva-based SARS-CoV-2 serology using at-home collection kits returned via mail
Serology provides tools for epidemiologic studies, and may have a role in vaccine prioritization and selection. Automated serologic testing of saliva, especially specimens that are self-collected at home and sent to a laboratory via the mail without ...

Stereochemistry‐Controlled Supramolecular Architectures of New Tetrahydroxy‐Functionalised Amphiphilic Carbocyanine Dyes [PDF]
The syntheses of novel amphiphilic 5,5′,6,6‐tetrachlorobenzimidacarbocyanine (TBC) dye derivatives with aminopropanediol head groups, which only differ in stereochemistry (chiral enantiomers, meso form and conformer), are reported.

Complementary Finite Element and Monte-Carlo Methods to Solve Industrial Thermal Problems [PDF]
This paper presents the integration of a Monte-Carlo solver inside SYRTHES, an open-source thermal code, originally based on finite elements method. Insensitive to both the geometric complexity of the model and the fineness of its discretization, this ...

5,10,15,20-Tetra(4-n-butylphenylethynyl)porphyrin has been synthesised from 4-n-butylphenylpropynal and converted into its zinc(II) and lead(II) complexes. The solution electronic spectra of these porphyrins are compared to the analogous complexes of 5,10,15,20-tetra(trimethylsilylethynyl)porphyrin.

Large-scale effects on meso-scale modeling for scalar transport [PDF]
The transport of scalar quantities passively advected by velocity fields with a small-scale component can be modeled at meso-scale level by means of an effective drift and an effective diffusivity, which can be determined by means of multiple-scale ...

Major factors affecting the snow simulations by the JULES in New Zealand
Snow frequently occurs over New Zealand. The seasonal snow accumulation can be about 3 m deep in early spring at some locations. Thus, for numerical weather prediction and climate modelling over New Zealand, a reliable, sophisticated snow model that can ...
