FEBS Open BioTo gain insight into the Syrian hamsters' (RjHan:AURA) microbiome, different gastrointestinal sections were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Distinct differences in bacterial communities before and after the cecum were found. Comparison to data from C57BL/6J mice displayed strong differences.
