From armadillos to sloths: Patterns and variations in xenarthran coronary anatomy
Abstract Species of the superorder Xenarthra play a vital ecological role in the Neotropics. Despite their evolutionary significance, anatomical studies on their coronary circulation remain scarce. This study investigated the coronary anatomy of 82 hearts from nine Xenarthra species across the Dasypodidae, Myrmecophagidae, and Bradypodidae.

Genetic structure of the Turkish hamster ( Mesocricetus brandti ) [PDF]
We examined the natural population structure of the Turkish hamster (Mesocricetus brandti) by analysing partial mitochondrial sequences of the control region and the cytochrome b gene. Evolutionary lineages were defined on haplotype clusters in genetic trees and a median-joining network. Most significant divergence events in M.

The pro‐resolving lipid mediator PDX, and a novel synthetic analogue AN‐48, were orally administered (50 ng/g) daily to hamsters fed an obesity‐inducing diet. AN‐48 prevented hepatic triglyceride accretion and reduced the expression of fatty acid synthase (FASN), responsible for de novo lipogenesis.
