Extensional and Colisional Magmatic Records in the Apiaí Terrane, South-Southeastern Brazil: Integration of Geochronological U-Pb Zircon Ages [PDF]

open access: yesGeologia USP. Série Científica, 2011
The aim of this work is the presentation of a synthesis of available geochronological data for the basement inliers andmetavolcano-sedimentary sequences which occur in the southern part of the Apiaí Terrane, south-southeastern Brazil. These data ...

Integrated well-seismic analysis of sedimentary facies distribution: A case study from the Mesoproterozoic, Ordos Basin, China

open access: yesOpen Geosciences
To advance the understanding of Mesoproterozoic sedimentary facies and delineate their distribution patterns in the Ordos Basin, this study systematically analyzes the sedimentary characteristics and stratigraphic architecture of the Mesoproterozoic ...

Typical earthquake-induced soft-sediment deformation structures in the Mesoproterozoic Wumishan Formation, Yongding River Valley, Beijing, China and interpreted earthquake frequency

open access: yesJournal of Palaeogeography, 2012
The Mesoproterozoic Wumishan Formation, composed of dolomite is a widely distributed stratigraphic unit in the Beijing area. It was formed over a long period of time in the Yan-Liao aulacogen, a stable peritidal environment that was ideal for recording ...

Remote sensing-based mapping of the Wadi Sa’al-Wadi Zaghara basement rocks, southern Sinai, Egypt

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, 2022
The Wadi Sa'al-Wadi Zaghara area, southern Sinai, Egypt is a key geologic region within the framework of the Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS). It almost documents the whole tectono-thermal evolution history of the Pan-African orogeny; hence it records the ...

Cadmium sulfide in a Mesoproterozoic terrestrial environment [PDF]

open access: yesMineralogical Magazine, 2014
AbstractCadmium sulfide mineralization occurs in grey-black shales of the late Mesoproterozoic Stoer Group, Torridonian Supergroup, northwest Scotland. Cadmium is strongly redox-controlled, and normally concentrated in anoxic marine sediments or epigenetic mineralization involving organic matter.

Mesoproterozoic Strike-Slip Faulting within the Åland Rapakivi Batholith, Southwestern Finland

open access: yesTektonika
Paleostress inversion analysis of outcrop data from brittle fault structures within the Mesoproterozoic 1.58 Ga Åland rapakivi granite, southwestern Finland, revealed two separate strike-slip faulting stages. Stage 1 is dominated by dextral slip along E–

Early–Late Carboniferous Tectonic Evolution of the Northern North China Craton (NE China): Constraints From Zircon Ages, Geochemistry, and Crustal Thickness Modeling

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The tectonic evolution of the northern margin of the North China Craton (NCC) remains controversial. In this study, we obtained zircon U–Pb ages, geochemical data, and Sr–Nd isotopic data for volcanic rocks, and detrital zircon ages for sedimentary rocks from the Yufutun, Tongqigou, and Benxi formations in central‐southern Jilin Province, NE ...

Petrogenesis of phlogopite-pyroxenite from Southern India: Implications for the link between Proterozoic subduction- to rift-related arc magmatism

open access: yesGeosystems and Geoenvironment, 2022
In this study, we investigate phlogopite-rich pyroxenite from a major terrain boundary, i.e., the interface of Nallamalai Fold Belt and Nellore schist belt, in southern India.

Palaeomagnetic, geochronological and geochemical study of Mesoproterozoic Lakhna Dykes in the Bastar Craton, India: Implications for the Mesoproterozoic supercontinent [PDF]

open access: yesLithos, 2013
Abstract Palaeomagnetic analysis of the Lakhna Dykes (Bastar Craton, India) yields a palaeopole at 36.6°N, 132.8°E, dp = 12.4°, dm = 15.9°, and the U Pb zircon age obtained from one of the rhyolitic dykes is 1466.4 ± 2.6 Ma (MSWD = 0.21, concordia age based on two analyses with identical Pb/U ages), similar to previously published U Pb ages.

Exhumation History of the Sangre de Cristo Range, Colorado, From Mid‐ to Low‐Temperature Thermochronology: New Insights Into Laramide Contraction and Oligocene–Miocene Extension in the Northern Rio Grande Rift, USA

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The Sangre de Cristo Range in southern Colorado records a complex tectonic history that includes Late Cretaceous–Eocene Laramide contraction and Oligocene–Quaternary Rio Grande rift extension. We present new thermochronologic data (40Ar/39Ar, fission‐track, (U‐Th)/He) and thermal history models that provide insight into this polyphase history ...
