Queue and Priority-Aware Adaptive Duty Cycle Scheme for Energy Efficient Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), energy efficiency is a fundamental issue that requires attention in the design of communication protocols. Energy waste occurs as a result of collision and idle listening.

MARAS: Mutual Authentication and Role-Based Authorization Scheme for Lightweight Internet of Things Applications

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The Internet of things (IoT) accommodates lightweight sensor/actuator devices with limited resources; hence, more efficient methods for known challenges are sought after. Message queue telemetry transport (MQTT) is a publish/subscribe-based protocol that

Analog Signal Summation for Reinforcement Learning via Simultaneous Light–Voltage Modulation in a Synaptic Device

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To overcome limitations of conventional AI hardware, a light‐voltage dual‐modulating synaptic (LVDS) transistor using an IGZO/InAs quantum dot hybrid structure is proposed. LVDS transistor enables analog summation for Dueling Deep Q‐Networks by independently modulating memory via optical and electrical stimuli.

Interface Engineering Suppresses Self‐Annealing in Electroplated Nanograined Copper for Low‐Temperature Copper‐to‐Copper Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A (111)‐oriented nanotwinned copper substrate stabilizes the deposited nanograined copper and prevents self‐annealing by restricting grain boundary motion at the interface and promoting the formation of stacking faults within the nanograined copper. Its preserved nanostructure maintains bonding capability even after 30 days of storage, resulting in ...

Queueing analysis of early message discard policy [PDF]

open access: yes2002 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Proceedings. ICC 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37333), 2003
We consider in this paper packets which arrive according to a Poisson process into a finite queue. A group of consecutive packets forms a frame (or a message) and one then considers not only the quality of service (QoS) of a single packet but also that of the whole message. In order to improve the required QoS, either on the frame loss probabilities or

Is Youth's Engagement in Agribusiness an Opportunity or a Necessity? A Closer Look at the Situation in South Kivu, Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the broad focus on necessity‐ and opportunity‐driven entrepreneurship in research and policy, the entrepreneurial dichotomy within the agribusiness context has not been adequately addressed. This study contributes to closing this knowledge gap by examining youth's perceptions of agribusiness through the lens of the push‐pull motivation

Exploring Quantum Support Vector Regression for Predicting Hydrogen Storage Capacity of Nanoporous Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
In this study we employed support vector regressor and quantum support vector regressor to predict the hydrogen storage capacity of metal–organic frameworks using structural and physicochemical descriptors. This study presents a comparative analysis of classical support vector regression (SVR) and quantum support vector regression (QSVR) in predicting ...
