Anthropogenic facilitation of wild plants based on aesthetic preferences for particular traits can change the biogeography and ecology of natural communities. We use a mixed‐methods socioecological approach to characterize the ways in which humans interact with a common, widely distributed plant and a generalist viral symbiont that induces an ...

Els mestres i la formació dels mestres
Les pràctiques són una preparació per a fer de mestre, que es fa a través d’una anàlisi profunda de la realitat escolar, l’observació directa, la planificació d’un contingut i la intervenció didàctica a l’aula. ABSTRACT Electric multiple unit (EMU) trains, widely used in modern railway transportation, use Nickel–Cadmium (Ni–Cd) batteries to power auxiliary systems on board, including lighting, ventilation, control electronics, and emergency systems. These batteries are often connected in parallel to ensure a wider power supply range for electrical loads that ...

Moderate retention forestry creates structurally sharp forest edges that act as ecological filters, shaping orientation‐specific activity of ground‐dwelling arthropods. Using drift‐fence pitfall traps, we show that activity aligned with ecotones is more frequent than activity across forest–clearcut boundaries, particularly among detritivores.

Murmurations of Mestre–Nagao sums
This paper investigates the detection of the rank of elliptic curves with ranks 0 and 1, employing a heuristic known as the Mestre–Nagao sum [Formula: see text] where [Formula: see text] is defined as [Formula: see text] for an elliptic curve [Formula: see text] with good reduction at prime [Formula: see text].

geohabnet: An R package for mapping habitat connectivity for biosecurity and conservation
Abstract Habitat connectivity is critical for the conservation of endangered and endemic species, and conversely, it can hinder efforts to contain the spread of harmful biological agents. Here, we introduce geohabnet: a general, spatially explicit, network‐based R package for evaluating, estimating and mapping landscape connectivity from continuous ...
