Lactate and pH in fetal blood samples are moderately correlated (r = −0.53). For the StatStrip® Lactate 2, we propose a lactate cutoff value of ≥5.6 mmol/L based on the most optimal balance between sensitivity (78.1% [60.0–90.7%]) and specificity (79.2% [73.4–84.3%]).
