High‐Altitude Adaptation of Frogs (Case Study: Nanorana parkeri): From Physiological Phenotypes to AltitudeOmics

High altitudes are challenging for the animals that inhabit these environments. The Xizang plateau frog (Nanorana parkeri) survives in high‐altitude environments through a synergistic strategy of metabolic remodeling and protein expression adjustment to optimize energy efficiency and enhance cellular protection.

Toward implementation of lactate compared with pH in fetal scalp blood sampling during labor: A clinical comparative single‐center study

Lactate and pH in fetal blood samples are moderately correlated (r = −0.53). For the StatStrip® Lactate 2, we propose a lactate cutoff value of ≥5.6 mmol/L based on the most optimal balance between sensitivity (78.1% [60.0–90.7%]) and specificity (79.2% [73.4–84.3%]).

Surgical management of a penetrating cardiac foreign body causing tamponade in a dog: case report

Background Penetrating cardiac foreign bodies are rare in dogs but can result in life‐threatening complications, including pericardial effusion and cardiac tamponade. Prompt diagnosis, emergency stabilization, and definitive surgical management are essential to achieve a favorable outcome.
