Volar metacarpophalangeal joint dislocation [PDF]
Volar dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal joint is a very rare clinical finding. A volar dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal joint of the left index finger in a 44 year old man is reported. Closed reduction proved unsuccessful requiring subsequent open reduction and internal fixation via a combined dorsal and volar approach.

Objective Regular imaging by conventional radiography to assess for joint damage is a cornerstone in the management of rheumatoid arthritis. Scoring systems to quantify such damage, such as the widely used Sharp/van der Heijde (SvdH) score, are limited by the requirement of time and experienced staff as well as intra‐ and interrater variability.

Disease classification criteria and response criteria are important tools in the conduct of observational studies and clinical trials for rheumatic diseases. This paper updates methodologic guidance for classification and response criteria funded, developed and/or endorsed by the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), incorporating contemporary ...

Background Microbial small RNAs (sRNAs) can regulate human genes. Higher plasma concentrations of microbial tRNA‐derived RNA‐1 (tDR‐1) were previously associated with lower rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity. This study examined whether tDR‐1 concentrations differ in anti‐cyclic citrullinated peptide‐3 positive (CCP3+) at‐risk individuals (ARI)

Surgical treatment of complex metacarpophalangeal joint dislocation
Dorsal dislocations of the metacarpophalangeal joint (MPJ) are relatively uncommon injuries. Complex dislocations of metacarpophalangeal dorsal dislocations are characterized with extended MPJ without flexion and flexed distal joints. Complex dislocation

Abstract Background Bone grafting in equine medicine offers a promising contribution to treating orthopaedic developmental diseases and chondral, osteochondral and segmental bone defects. Among grafts, synthetic bone substitutes—alloplastics—show favourable biological properties addressing numerous limitations presented by autografts, xenografts and ...
