Testing the core–periphery hypothesis: a standardised multi‐phylum assessment of genetic diversity of marine coastal species

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
The core–periphery hypothesis (CPH) predicts that genetic diversity is greatest at the centre and lowest at the edges of a species' distribution because genetic diversity is a function of a species' abundance, which is also expected to be greatest at the centre and lowest at the edges of the distribution. Variants of the CPH include the ‘Ramped North' (

Minimization or withdrawal of oral pharmacotherapy in chronic heart failure patients with improved myocardial function: A systematic review

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
This systematic review included seven studies that reported the outcomes of minimization or withdrawal of oral pharmacotherapy in chronic heart failure (HF) patients with improved myocardial function. There is a dearth of existing evidence, which supports only loop diuretic withdrawal and possibly carvedilol monotherapy.

Outcome of IWGT workshop on transcriptomic biomarkers for genotoxicity: Key considerations for bioinformatics

open access: yesEnvironmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, EarlyView.
Abstract As a part of the International Workshop on Genotoxicity Testing (IWGT) in 2022, a workgroup was formed to evaluate the level of validation and regulatory acceptance of transcriptomic biomarkers that identify genotoxic substances. Several such biomarkers have been developed using various molecular techniques and computational approaches. Within

Uncertainty in inventories for life cycle assessment: State‐of‐the‐art, challenges, and new technologies

open access: yesEnvironmental Progress &Sustainable Energy, EarlyView.
Abstract Uncertainty is a critical factor that can hinder the quality and potential applications of life cycle assessment (LCA) results. A prominent source of uncertainty stems from the life cycle inventory (LCI) data. Various methodologies exist to estimate the uncertainty associated with LCI data, primarily based on the widely used structured ...
