Remote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.Developments in aerial survey methods and computer vision models allow for wildlife population monitoring over large areas. A key limitation to these approaches for active monitoring is the slow process of converting imagery into data. Near real‐time monitoring is crucial for management decisions and ecological forecasting.
