Specifying metadata standards for metadata tool configuration
Computer Networks, 1998Abstract A critical problem for metadata applications is flexibility. A metadata application must be sufficiently flexible to cope with changes to metadata standards over time and to allow users to extend a standard to cope with local requirements.

A Standard and Software for Numerical Metadata
ACM Transactions on Mathematical Software, 2009We propose a standard for generating, manipulating, and storing metadata describing numerical problems, in particular properties of matrices and linear systems. The standard comprises: –an API for metadata generating and querying software, and –an XML format for permanent storage of metadata.

Localisation Standards and Metadata
2010In this paper we describe a localisation process and focus on localisation standards. Localisation standards provide a common framework for localisers, including authors, translators, engineers, and publishers. Standards with rich semantic metadata generally facilitate, accelerate, and improve the localisation process.

Standard metadata embedding in a digital image
14th International Workshop on Database and Expert Systems Applications, 2003. Proceedings., 2004Telecommunications and digital networks development has determined a strongly diffusion of many disparate multimedia communication services. Distribution and successive fruition of digital contents surely cover the major part of these opportunities. Anyway the availability of a reliable infrastructure for managing all the issues related to the exchange

Progress in SAR Metadata Standards
IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is one of the several major remote sensing modalities readily available. Unfortunately, its use is hampered by sensor-specific data and metadata formats and content. The resulting steep learning curve keeps many analysts from using the data. To help address this problem, the IEEE GRSS society is sponsoring a working group
