open access: yesJournal of Literary Studies, 1987
Summary In this article it is shown by an analysis of “Kaapse skeepswerf” (Cape shipyard) by D.J. Opperman that current theory about metaphor cannot fully account for the contexts of utterances. A top‐down approach using the concept frame from artificial intelligence is proposed instead of the current bottom‐up approach.

Colonization and extinction lags drive non‐linear responses to warming in mountain plant communities across the Northern Hemisphere

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
