Fluorescence Studies of the Interplay between Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence and Graphene-Induced Quenching. [PDF]
Fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy were applied for studying the optical properties of a hybrid nanostructure, in which we combine plasmon-induced metal enhanced fluorescence with energy transfer to epitaxial graphene. Covering the layer of silver islands with a monolayer graphene, while turning on the efficient energy transfer from emitters ...

Metal-enhanced e-type fluorescence [PDF]
In this letter, we report metal-enhanced e-type fluorescence. Eosin in close proximity to silver island films (SiFs) shows enhanced e-type fluorescence with an approximately two-fold higher intensity observed from SiFs, as compared to a control sample. Our findings suggest two complementary mechanisms for the enhancement: surface plasmons can radiate e-

Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence of Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]
The photoluminescence (PL) quantum yield of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) is relatively low, with various quenching effects by metallic species reported in the literature. Here, we report the first case of metal enhanced fluorescence (MEF) of surfactant-coated carbon nanotubes on nanostructured gold substrates.

Metal-enhanced excimer (P-type) fluorescence [PDF]
In this Letter, we report the first observation of metal-enhanced excimer (P-type) fluorescence from pyrene. Pyrene in close proximity to silver island films (SIFs) shows enhanced pyrene excimer emission with a ?2.5-fold higher emission intensity observed from SIFs and 5×10?3M pyrene, as compared to a quartz control sample containing no silver ...

DNA hybridization assays using metal-enhanced fluorescence [PDF]
We describe a new approach to DNA hybridization assays using metal-enhanced fluorescence. Thiolated oligonucleotides were bound to silver particles on a glass substrate. Addition of a complementary fluorescein-labeled oligonucleotide resulted in a dramatic time-dependent 12-fold increase in fluorescence intensity during hybridization.

Metal Manipulated Fluorescence: Mechanisms, Materials, and Plasmonic Strategies for Enhanced Emission [PDF]
Fluorescence remains a foundational optical phenomenon underpinning applications in sensing, imaging, diagnostics, and catalysis. Among the strategies developed to modulate fluorescence, coupling fluorophores with plasmonic metals has emerged as a ...

Photodeposition of Silver Can Result in Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence
Chemically deposited silver particles are widely used for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and more recently for surface-enhanced fluorescence (SEF), also known as metal-enhanced fluorescence (MEF). We now show that metallic silver deposited by laser illumination results in an ∼7-fold increased intensity of locally bound indocyanine green.

Circuit theory of metal-enhanced fluorescence [PDF]
Abstract Metal-enhanced fluorescence (MEF) comprises several linear phenomena which can be successfully described either by a classical theory or by a quantum one. Usually different phenomena are described by different classical models. Recently, an analytical model for a metal nanoantenna coupled to a quantum emitter was suggested that grants an ...
