Metal-enhanced excimer (P-type) fluorescence [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Physics Letters, 2008
In this Letter, we report the first observation of metal-enhanced excimer (P-type) fluorescence from pyrene. Pyrene in close proximity to silver island films (SIFs) shows enhanced pyrene excimer emission with a ?2.5-fold higher emission intensity observed from SIFs and 5×10?3M pyrene, as compared to a quartz control sample containing no silver ...

Metal-enhanced S2 fluorescence from azulene [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Physics Letters, 2006
In this paper, we report the first observation of metal-enhanced S(2) emission at room and low temperature (77K). The S(2) emission intensity of Azulene is enhanced by close proximity to Silver island films (SiFs). In this regard, a ≈ 2-fold higher S(2) fluorescence intensity of Azulene was observed from SiFs as compared to a glass control sample. This

A single chemosensor for multiple analytes: fluorogenic and ratiometric absorbance detection of Zn²⁺, Mg²⁺ and F⁻, and its cell imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A simple coumarin based sensor 1 has been synthesized from the condensation reaction of 7-hydroxycoumarin and ethylenediamine via the intermediate 7-hydroxy-8-aldehyde-coumarin.

Metal-enhanced fluorescence of single green fluorescent protein (GFP) [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2008
The green fluorescent protein (GFP) has emerged as a powerful reporter molecule for monitoring gene expression, protein localization, and protein-protein interaction. However, the detection of low concentrations of GFPs is limited by the weakness of the fluorescent signal and the low photostability.

Metal enhanced fluorescence on silicon wafer substrates [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Physics Letters, 2008
We report on the fluorescence enhancement induced by silver island film (SIF) deposited on a silicon wafer. The model immunoassay was studied on silvered and unsilvered wafers. The fluorescence brightness of Rhodamine Red X increased about 300% on the SIF, while the lifetime was reduced by several fold and the photostability increased substantially. We

Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence of Chlorophylls in Single Light-Harvesting Complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Ensemble and single-molecule spectroscopy demonstrates that both emission and absorption of peridinin−chlorophyll−protein photosynthetic antennae can be largely enhanced through plasmonic interactions.

Plasmon Enhanced Fluorescence and Raman Scattering by [Au-Ag Alloy NP Cluster]@SiO2 Core-Shell Nanostructure

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
Silica-shell coated noble metal nanoparticles have shown a good performance in surface enhanced fluorescence and Raman scattering. However, silica-shell coated single noble nanoparticle cannot effectively enhance the optical signal due to the relative ...

Translation of Nanoantenna Hot-Spots by a Metal-Dielectric Composite Superlens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We employ numerical simulations to show that highly localized, enhanced electromagnetic fields, also known as "hot spots," produced by a periodic array of silver nanoantennas can be spatially translated to the other side of a metal-dielectric composite ...

DNA hybridization assays using metal-enhanced fluorescence [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2003
We describe a new approach to DNA hybridization assays using metal-enhanced fluorescence. Thiolated oligonucleotides were bound to silver particles on a glass substrate. Addition of a complementary fluorescein-labeled oligonucleotide resulted in a dramatic time-dependent 12-fold increase in fluorescence intensity during hybridization.

A proposal and a theoretical analysis of an enhanced surface plasmon coupled emission structure for single molecule detection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a structure that can be used for enhanced single molecule detection using surface plasmon coupled emission (SPCE). In the proposed structure, instead of a single metal layer on the glass prism of a typical SPCE structure for fluorescence ...
