Defective Metal‐Organic Frameworks [PDF]
AbstractThe targeted incorporation of defects into crystalline matter allows for the manipulation of many properties and has led to relevant discoveries for optimized and even novel technological applications of materials. It is therefore exciting to see that defects are now recognized to be similarly useful in tailoring properties of metal‐organic ...

Liquid metal–organic frameworks [PDF]
Metal--organic frameworks (MOFs) are a family of chemically diverse materials, with applications in a wide range of fields covering engineering, physics, chemistry, biology and medicine. Research so far has focused almost entirely on crystalline structures, yet a clear trend has emerged shifting the emphasis onto disordered states of MOFs, including ...

Hierarchy in Metal–Organic Frameworks [PDF]
Sequence-defined nucleic acids and proteins with internal monomer sequences and arrangement are vital components in the living world, as a result of billions of years of molecular evolution. These natural hierarchical systems have inspired researchers to develop artificial hierarchical materials that can mimic similar functions such as replication ...

Metal–Organic Frameworks in Agriculture
Agrochemicals, which are crucial to meet the world food qualitative and quantitative demand, are compounds used to kill pests (insects, fungi, rodents, or unwanted plants). Regrettably, there are some important issues associated with their widespread and extensive use (e.g., contamination, bioaccumulation, and development of pest resistance); thus, a ...

Hydrophobic Metal–Organic Frameworks [PDF]
AbstractMetal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have diverse potential applications in catalysis, gas storage, separation, and drug delivery because of their nanoscale periodicity, permanent porosity, channel functionalization, and structural diversity. Despite these promising properties, the inherent structural features of even some of the best‐performing ...

Crystallography of metal–organic frameworks [PDF]
Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are one of the most intensely studied material types in recent times. Their networks, resulting from the formation of strong bonds between inorganic and organic building units, offer unparalled chemical diversity and pore environments of growing complexity.

Distinguishing metal–organic frameworks [PDF]
We consider two metal-organic frameworks as identical if they share the same bond network respecting the atom types. An algorithm is presented that decides whether two metal-organic frameworks are the same. It is based on distinguishing structures by comparing a set of descriptors that is obtained from the bond network.

Docking in Metal-Organic Frameworks [PDF]
MOFs with Guest Rooms Metal organic framework (MOF) solids typically boast large pores in their crystal lattices that can accommodate molecular guests and are useful as compact media for gas storage. However, guest binding has generally relied upon nonspecific interactions with the framework components.
