Hydrogenolysis of glycerol over Pt/C catalyst in combination with alkali metal hydroxides

open access: yesOpen Chemistry, 2016
The hydrogenolysis of glycerol was performed over a Pt/C catalyst in combination with several alkali metal hydroxides and their salts. LiOH was found to be an effective promoter for the selective hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2-propanediol.

Novel Structures and Magnetic Properties of Two [Mn2] Complexes with 2,4-di-2-pyridyl-2,4-pentanediol as the Ligand

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2019
Two ligands, 2,4-di-2-pyridyl-2,4-pentanediol (rD and mD), were employed to synthesize two Mn2 complexes, [Mn2(rD)2Br2] (1) and [Mn2(mD)2(H2O)2]Br2 (2). Compound 1 crystallized in a tetragonal space group, P41212, with a novel hamburger shaped structure.

Modelling of Lewis-Acid Catalyzed Ring Opening of Oxanorbornenes in the Synthesis of Azaheterocyclic Phosphonates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Since the discovery of the biological activity of aminophosphonates, research started on the synthesis of more constraint azaheterocyclic phosphonates. We developed a route via an intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction towards α-aminophosphonates 1.

Dialkylaluminium 2-imidazolylphenolates: Synthesis, characterization and ring-opening polymerization behavior towards lactides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The stoichiometric reaction of the 2-imidazolylphenols (L1–L9) with the trialkylaluminium reagents AlR₃ (R = Me, Et and iBu), afforded the corresponding dialkylaluminium 2-imidazolylphenolate complexes [R₂Al(L1–L9)] (C1–C11), which were characterized by ...

Investigation Into the Electrochemical Performance of Micron‐ and Nanosized Tin in Diglyme and Carbonate Electrolytes in Sodium Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study compares Sn particles of different sizes in NIBs using carbonate‐ and diglyme‐based electrolytes. Diglyme electrolytes enable stable cycling despite large volume changes, while carbonate electrolytes degrade rapidly, especially with nanoparticles.

Thioether-catalysed tandem synthesis of furans and cyclic ethers or lactones [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Acyclic conjugated ynenediones tethered to an alcohol or carboxylic acid are converted into furanyl-substituted cyclic ethers or lactones in a single step by treatment with the tetrahydrothiophene.

[Metal alkoxides---models for metal oxides: Alkoxide ligands in early transition metal organometallic chemistry]. Progress report [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
An effort was made to compare and contrast the reactivity of trialkylsiloxide vs tert-butoxide supported dinuclear centers, and an initiative aimed at studying the syntheses of polynuclear hydridoalkoxides and their reactions has been implemented.
