Operando Identification of the Active Phase in Sr‐Promoted Lanthanum Cobaltite Perovskite‐Derived Catalysts for Ammonia Decomposition

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Ammonia decomposition catalyzed by base metals: Exsolution of cobalt from perovskites prepared by spray‐flame synthesis (SFS) yields highly active, SrO‐promoted Co/La2O3 catalysts with low cobalt content. Operando studies provide insight into the function of the promoter. Dynamic surface reconstruction under operating conditions increases the interface

An image analysis of adhesive remnant index between ceramic and metal brackets : a clinical study / Mohd Fariq Usoff [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The debonding characteristics of the brackets can be determined from Adhesive Remnant Index (ARI) score. To date, there is a lack of clinical studies to evaluate the debonding characteristics between metal and ceramic brackets.

The Release of Total Metal Ion and Genotoxicity of Stainless Steel Brackets: Experimental Study Using Micronucleus Assay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: Stainless steel brackets are composed of various metal that may corrode in oral cavity. Corrosion is caused by the release of metal ions such as chromium, nickel, and iron. The release of metal ions can cause adverse effects such as toxicity,

An Oral Antiviral Combination Against Severe COVID‐19 Enabled by the Synergistic Mechanisms of Action of Auranofin and Remdesivir

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FDA‐approved anti‐inflammatory drug Auranofin inhibits SARS‐CoV‐2 replication by inhibiting viral Main protease activity and Spike processing required for viral entry. It shows strong synergy with nucleoside analogue Remdesivir, due to non‐overlapping mechanisms.

Load Deformation Test of Mini Twin Metal Brackets : A Comparative Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The trend toward more esthetic brackets has led to smaller brackets being used by orthodontists. The purpose of this study was to determine the force required to deform these smaller brackets and calculate the stress in the metal by using a torsional ...

Debonding forces of different pads in a lingual bracket system

open access: yesDental Press Journal of Orthodontics
Objective: To evaluate the shear bond strength of lingual orthodontic brackets with resin or metal pads, the location of bond failure and the adhesive remnant index (ARI).

Human Engineered Heart Tissues Reproduce Trigger‐ and Substrate‐Driven Mechanisms of Ventricular Tachycardia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered heart tissues (EHTs) derived from human iPSCs replicate mechanisms of ventricular tachycardia at the tissue level. Acquired Long‐QT conditions cause early afterdepolarizations, wavebreak, and transient rotors; in contrast, focal cryoinjury forms a stable substrate that supports ongoing reentry.

Agostic Hydridoborate Complexes as Masked Coinage‐Metal Hydrides: Hydride Migration Between Boron and Gold Unlocks CO2 Reactivity

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Hydride addition to coinage‐metal diphosphine–borane complexes gives unprecedented Cu(I), Ag(I), and Au(I) hydridoborates featuring agostic σ(B–H)→M interactions. While, Cu and Ag derivatives are inert toward CO2, the Au analogue reversibly fixes CO2 and catalyzes its hydroboration as well as formic acid dehydrogenation through a cooperative B─H─Au ...

Deformation of metal brackets: a comparative study.

open access: yesThe Angle orthodontist, 1994
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of material and design on the force and stress required to permanently deform metal brackets. Fourteen types of metal brackets were categorized according to raw material composition, slot torque degree, and wing type.
