The overpotential constitutes an electrochemical potential difference at the solid–liquid interface, which can manifest itself in different ways. In general, it can not only drive the reaction along the reaction coordinate, but also modulate chemical potentials in the extended environment that shape activation barriers, without necessarily being a ...

Biocatalysts for Peptide Geranylation With Linear and Cyclic Prenyl Groups
A combination of genome mining, synthetic biology, and biocatalytic assays revealed enzymes that install linear and cyclized prenyl moieties on ribosomally or chemically synthesized peptides. The promiscuity of both enzymes, while being specific for modification of C‐terminal tryptophans, enables enzymatic access to peptide terpenoid hybrids.

ABSTRACT Metal corrosion causes significant economic losses and safety hazards, underscoring the urgent need for effective, environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors. In this study, an organic–inorganic composite inhibitor, chitosan–glucose–BN (CS–GL–BN) was developed to protect Q235 mild steel in a 3.5‐wt% NaCl solution.

Fluids under High Pressure Insighted by Operando Neutron Imaging and Molecular Dynamics Simulations
There is limited research on how fluids behave under the extreme conditions found in fuel gas systems (high pressure) and catalytic reactors (high temperature and pressure). Neutron Imaging provides experimental data on interfacial tension, and Henry's law volatility constant, apparent molar volume, and diffusion coefficient for systems from toluene ...
