Pt‐Mediated Co‐Adsorption of Hydroxyl and Nitrogen‐Heterocyclic Species Over Cu/CuO Heterostructure Enhances Coupled Azotriazole Electrosynthesis and Dual‐Electrode Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Pt@Cu/CuO heterostructures were designed for electrochemical N─N coupling of 3,5‐diamino‐1H‐1,2,4‐triazole. Mechanism investigation revealed that the Pt sites mediated co‐adsorption of substrates and hydroxyl on Cu/CuO sites. The elaborate Pt@Cu/CuO achieved an ultralow working potential of 0.832 VRHE with a high FE of 95%. A long‐term stability of 600

Electrochemical and Optical Spectroscopic Probing of Transition‐Sized Au130(SR)50 Nanoclusters

open access: yesChemElectroChem
Ultrasmall metal nanoclusters (NCs) exhibit a quantized conduction band, hence, a distinct HOMO‐LUMO gap (Eg). Such a quantized electronic structure gives rise to multiple discrete peaks in the optical absorption spectrum of the NCs. As the size grows to

Metal nanoclusters supported on cross-linked functional polymers: a class of emerging metal catalysts

open access: yes, 2008
Supported metal catalysts, M0/S, are typically two- components materials built up with a nanostructured metal component, in which the metal centre is in the zero oxidation state (M0), and with an inorganic support (S), quite various in its chemical and ...

Engineering Atomically Precise Cu4I4 Nanoclusters With Integrated Adsorption and Hydrogenation Functions for Efficient Photocatalytic Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Conversion

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Efficient photocatalytic nitrate‐to‐ammonia conversion is achieved over an atomically precise Cu4I4 motif through dual‐site cooperation. Lewis‐acidic Cu centers promote nitrate adsorption and activation, while adjacent I sites facilitate active hydrogen generation for stepwise hydrogenation.

Single‐Atom Control of Aromaticity and Excited‐State Dynamics in Endohedral Zirconium–Antimony Zintl Clusters

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Single‐atom growth from [Zr@Sb12]2− to [Zr@Sb13]3− disrupts the closed‐shell S2P6 superatomic configuration and markedly attenuates three‐dimensional (3D) aromaticity. Ultrafast spectroscopy further links stronger spherical aromaticity to slower excited‐state relaxation, establishing an atom‐resolved structure‐aromaticity‐dynamics relationship ...

Synergy Between Photon‐to‐Phonon Pathway and Active Lattice Oxygen Enables Efficient and Stable Syngas Synthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work reports the design of a multifunctional MnOx support coupled with classic Rh catalytic centers for light‐driven dry reforming of methane. Benefiting from efficient photon‐to‐phonon conversion pathway and a dynamic OL‐OV cycle, the catalyst achieves high syngas production rates and light‐to‐chemical energy efficiency without external heating ...
