Research of structural entropy of sheet aluminium alloys depending on annealing temperature

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Sheet blanks’ structure uniformity determines their ability to sheet stamping. Level of entropy may represent the characteristic of structural uniformity.

Investigation of advanced strain-path dependent material models for sheet metal forming simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Sheet metal forming processes often involve complex loading sequences. To improve the prediction of some undesirable phenomena, such as springback, physical behavior models should be considered.

Absence of critical thickness for polar skyrmions with breaking the Kittel’s law

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
The period of polar domain (d) in ferroics was commonly believed to scale with corresponding film thicknesses (h), following the classical Kittel’s law of d ∝ $$\sqrt{h}$$ h .

Dependence of Solidification for Bi2Te3−xSex Alloys on Their Liquid States

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The resistivity versus temperature (ρ-T) behaviours of liquid n-type Bi2Te3−x Se x (x = 0.3, 0.45 and 0.6) alloys are explored up to 1050 °C. A clear hump is observed on all ρ-T curves of the three studied Bi2Te3−x Se x melts during the heating process ...

Anisotropy oxidation behavior and mechanism of textured Ti3(SiAl)C2 ceramic

open access: yesnpj Materials Degradation, 2023
Adjusting the grain growth orientation may be a feasible way to improve the oxidation resistance. In this work, textured Ti3(SiAl)C2 ceramic was successfully fabricated via the spark plasma sintering technique.

Humic matter and contaminants: general aspects and modeling metal ion binding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Humic substances are soil and fresh-water components that play an important role in the binding and transport of both organic and inorganic contaminants.

Conductive porous vanadium nitride/graphene composite as chemical anchor of polysulfides for lithium-sulfur batteries

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Lithium sulfur batteries are a promising next generation storage technology. Their performance, however, is subject to the parasitic shuttle effect. Here the authors report a cathode material comprising porous vanadium nitride nanoribbon and graphene to ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Antibiotic resistance gene abundances correlate with metal and geochemical conditions in Scottish soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The vast majority of antibiotic resistant genes (ARG) acquired by human pathogens have originated from the natural environment. Therefore, understanding factors that influence intrinsic levels of ARG in the environment could be epidemiologically ...
