Comparative study of the physicochemical, antimicrobial and stability properties of silver, copper and zinc nanoparticle soaps

open access: yesDiscover Chemistry
This study presents a comparative evaluation of green-synthesized silver (AgNP), copper (CuNP), and zinc (ZnNP) nanoparticle-based soaps, using a commercial formulation (Soap A) as a benchmark.

Investigating the Cytoskeleton of DRGs Using Cryo‐Electron Microscopy and Deep Learning

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe a method for determining the ultrastructural organization of axons and varicosities of cultured dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Cryo‐EM reveals the dimensions, proximity, and overall organization of biological specimens in a near‐native state, avoiding artifacts of fixation and ...

A Social Entrepreneurship Perspective of De‐Carbonising the Footprint through Recycling Compensation: A Case Study of the NGO Madre Coraje

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This research analyses the carbon footprint of the NGO Madre Coraje, using an integrated methodology that combines the calculator provided by REAS (Red de Economía Alternativa y Solidaria) Navarra and the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). It quantifies emissions across the three scopes of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, evaluating both direct and ...

EFFECT OF METALLIC SOAPS ON POLYMERISATION

open access: yes, 1953
Effect of a few oil-soluble, surface-active agents and the oleates of Cr, Ag, Cd, Pb, Cu on the benzoyl peroxide catalysed polymerisation of styrene in solution and that of the soaps of Mn, Zn, Cd, Co, Ni, Al, Fe etc. on the polymerisation of methyl methacrylate and styrene in absence of peroxide catalyst have been studied.

Does Openness Promote Competition? A Case Study of Indian Manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper uses firm level data for the period 1989-2001 to analyse the working of competition in India’s manufacturing sector. It examines the impact of greater competition on profit mark-up over the last decade.

No Charging but Protection: Lifetime Prolongation of Spontaneously‐polarized Electrets for Energy Harvesting Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A bilayer protection approach is proposed for slowing down the surface potential decay of thin films of spontaneously‐polarized electret materials. The electret and the protective films are characterized, and the protection effectiveness is investigated under the effects of light illumination, water contact and mechanical impact.

Contribution of Free Fatty Acids to Emulsion Building and Stability: Understanding the Mechanism From the Case Study of a Crude Red Palm Oil (Elaeis guineensis)—Based Emulsion Consumed in Africa and Known as Achu Soup/Sauce Jaune/Ncha

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
In an aqueous alkaline medium, fatty acids (from the hydrolysis of triglycerides or freely present in the oil) are ionised in order to form emulsifiers (carboxylates) which will physically stabilise the prepared emulsion. The higher the free fatty acids content of the oil and alkalinity of the solution, the higher will be the stability of the prepared ...

Preparation of Monodispersed Metal Oxide Particle from Normal Chain Metal Soaps. ZrO2 Particles from Zirconium Soaps.

open access: yesNIPPON KAGAKU KAISHI, 1991
