Novel 24-membered octanuclear manganese(III) metallacrown
A novel octanuclear manganese metalladiazamacrocycle (1) was synthesized employing a new pentadentate ligand N-methacryl-5-methylsalicylhydrazide (H3mamshz) by supramolecular self assembly.

The preparation and crystal structure of a tetranuclear Ni(II) sulfato cluster containing the anion of di‐2‐pyridyl ketone oxime, (py)2CNO−, are reported. Treatment of NiSO4·6H2O with one equivalent of (py)2CNOH and one equivalent of NEt3 in MeOH leads to the compound [Ni4{(py)2CNO}4(SO4)2(MeOH)4] (1) in moderate yield.

The use of 2‐pyridinealdoxime (paoH)/N,N′‐donor ligand (L‐L) “blend” in cobalt chemistry has afforded two cationic mononuclear cobalt(III) complexes of the general type [Co(pao) 2(L‐L)] +, where L‐L = 1,10‐phenanthroline (phen) and 2,2′‐bipyridine (bpy). The CoCl2/paoH/L‐L (1 : 2 : 1) reaction system in MeOH gives complexes [CoIII(pao) 2(phen)]Cl·2H2O (

In Vitro Evaluation of Oxoplatin: An Oral Platinum(IV) Anticancer Agent
Platinum(IV) compounds like oxoplatin (cis, cis, trans‐diammine‐dichlorido‐dihydroxido‐platinum(IV)) show increased stability and therefore can be applied orally. In a panel of 38 human cancer cell lines this drug induced S‐phase arrest and cell death with IC50 values 2.5‐fold higher than cisplatin.

Fluorescence Sensors for Lithium Ions and Small Peptides
Simple but powerful chemosensors were developed by taking advantage of self-assembly processes. First, we will describe a turn-on fluorescent sensor for the pharmacologically important lithium ion.

Electronic Effects in 12-Metallacrown-3 Complexes. A Theoretical and Experimental Study
The Mulliken charges of the 12-metallacrown-3 complex [(C6H6)Ru(C5H3NO2)]3 were determined by a single point analysis at the HF level. For comparison, a Mulliken population analysis was carried out for the organic analogue 12-crown-3.

Luminescent Lanthanide Complexes with Fluorinated Heterocycles as Light‐Harvesting Antennae
The luminescence of trivalent lanthanide (Tb, Eu, Sm, Dy) coordination compounds was optimized. The electronic properties of the light‐harvesting antenna were modulated by regioselective fluorination and trifluoromethylation. The effects of the coordination geometry of the metal ion and the linker connecting the carbostyril and the metal‐binding site ...

Metallacrown of CeIIICuII5: Synthesis, Structural Characterization and Insights for Nanoparticles
The heterobimetallic 15-MC-5 metallacrown of formula [CeCu5(5mpzHA)5(NO3)(H2O)7]·2NO3·7H2O, designated MC-Ce, was synthesized using 5-methyl-2-pyrazinehydroxamic acid (5mpzHA) as a linker, reacting with CeIII and CuII salts under mild conditions.
