Silver(I) Complexes of Two Flexible Bis-phospholane Ligands: Metallamacrocycles, Polymeric Chains, and Metallacryptands. [PDF]

open access: yesZ Anorg Allg Chem, 2020
In a 2:2 reaction with silver(I) chloride or bromide, 1,5‐bis(1‐phospholano)pentane (1a) afforded frame‐like macrocyclic structures, with intra‐ (2, Cl) or intermolecular (3, Br) halido bridges. In contrast, 1,7‐bis(1‐phospholano)heptane (1b) formed coordination polymers 4a (Cl) and 4b (Br) with bridging bis‐phospholane and halido ligands.

Unravelling the Roles of Solvophobic Effects and π⋅⋅⋅π Stacking Interactions in the Formation of [2]Catenanes Featuring Di‐(N‐Heterocyclic Carbene) Building Blocks

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 135, Issue 50, December 11, 2023., 2023
Different effects have been shown to control the formation of [2]catenanes with different bridges between pyridine donors. The formation of [2‐IL](OTf)4 is aided by solvophobic effects and [3‐IL](OTf)4 is stabilized by solvophobic effects and π⋅⋅⋅π stacking. The π⋅⋅⋅π stacking between the pyrene groups is essential for the formation of [4‐IL](PF6)4 and

Tetraruthenium Macrocycles with Laterally Extended Bis(alkenyl)quinoxaline Ligands and Their F4TCNQ•− Salts

open access: yesInorganics, 2022
We report on the tetraruthenium macrocycles Ru4-5 and -6 with a π-conjugated pyrene-appended 5,8-divinylquinoxaline ligand and either isophthalate or thiophenyl-2,5-dicarboxylate linkers and their charge-transfer salts formed by oxidation with two ...

Organometallic Borromean Rings and [2]Catenanes Featuring Di‐NHC Ligands

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 135, Issue 11, March 6, 2023., 2023
Solvophobic effects have been shown to play a crucial role in the formation and stability of a series of organometallic Borromean rings (BRs) and [2]catenanes prepared from benzobiscarbene complexes. The stability of the interlocked species in solution is related to the lengths of the N‐alkyl substituents at the benzobiscarbene linkers, with longer N ...

Multinuclear metal nucleobase complexes. [PDF]

open access: yesMet Based Drugs, 1994
Of all properties of metal nucleobase complexes, formation of multinuclear species appears to be an outstanding feature. After a brief introduction into well known polymeric metal nucleobase complexes, three aspects recently Studied in our laboratory will be dealt with in more detail: (i) Heteronuclear complexes derived from trans‐[(amine)2Pt(1-MeC)2 ...

Up‐ and Down‐Shifting Nanomaterials with Chiroptical Responses: Origin of their Chiroptical Activity and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 11, Issue 18, September 18, 2023., 2023
Photoactive nanomaterials can display up‐shifting emission, such as lanthanide‐doped matrices (UCNPs), down‐shifting emission, such as coinage metal nanoclusters (AuNCs) and lead halide perovskite nanoparticles (HP NPs), or very low emission, such as plasmonic nanoparticles, and present a chiroptical response, which origin can be alike for the ...

Organoplatinum‐Bridged Cyclotribenzylene Dimers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 26, Issue 25, September 1, 2023., 2023
Asymmetric cyclotribenzylenes (CTBs) incorporating an alkynyl and two nitrile functions were reacted with cis‐[PtL2Cl2] (L=PEt3 or L2=1,3‐bis(diphenylphosphino)propane) to afford Pt‐bridged CTB dimers. When CuI was used as synthetic auxiliary, (Pt, Cu) binuclear complexes in which a CuCl/CuI moiety was π‐coordinated to the platinum‐bound bis‐alkynyl ...

Manganese Metallamacrocycles with Various Coordination Solvents

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, 2002
The hexanuclear metallamacrocycles were observed repeatedly in various conditions including the presence of several different tricationic metal ions in the macrocyclic ring system and of the linear alkyl chains at the acyl site of N-acylsalicylhydrazide ligand, which contrasts to the formation of the decanuclear metallamacrocycle with bulkier side ...

Fifty Years of Inorganic Biomimetic Chemistry: From the Complexation of Single Metal Cations to Polynuclear Metal Complexes by Multidentate Thiolate Ligands

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 26, Issue 10, April 3, 2023., 2023
This review shows, with selected examples, how the evolution of the coordination chemistry of transition metal cations with thiolate‐based ligands paralleled, at least in part, the concomitant development of bioinorganic chemistry during the last 50 years, with emphasis on the strategies directed at the controlled and reproducible synthesis of ...

Structural Diversity of Alkaline Earth Centered Gold(I) Metallacoronates

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 2020, Issue 46, Page 4341-4349, December 13, 2020., 2020
Neutral gold(I) metallacoronates encapsulating alkaline earth metal ions are obtained by one‐pot reactions from catechol‐ or pyridine‐centered aroylbis(N,N‐diethylthioureas), alkaline earth salts and [AuCl(tetrahydrothiophene)]. Nuclearity and structures of the products depend on the organic framework of the thiourea ligands and the size of the ...
