Metallographic Structure and Hardness of Titanium Orthodontic Brackets

Journal of Orofacial Orthopedics, 2003
To determine the elemental composition, microstructure, and hardness of two different brands of titanium (Ti) orthodontic brackets.Four specimens of each brand were embedded in epoxy resin and, after metallographic grinding and polishing, were studied under a metallographic microscope.

Tribological properties of flexspline materials regulated by micro-metallographic structure

Tribology International, 2018
Abstract Flexspline wear is a critical factor leading to harmonic drive failure. This study investigates the tribological properties of five typical flexspline materials under dry friction conditions. A wear mechanism regulated by micro-metallographic structure is proposed.

Validity of using high-energy fluxes for the metallographic revelation of the structure

Surface Engineering and Applied Electrochemistry, 2016
The possibility of applying high-energy effects for metallographic etching is considered. It is shown that the methods of affecting the metal surface carrying the thermal component can alter the sample structure or reveal effects which can complicate the perception and analysis of the structure.

Effects of Cooling Rate on Metallographic Structure of Boron-Bearing Steel

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015
Effects of cooling rate on metallographic structure of boron-bearing steel were investigated in present research. The results showed it consists of ferrite and pearlite formed in the initial stage of the transformation in the studied boron-bearing steels cooled at the rate from 1 to 10°C/s. For the higher cooling rate than 15 to 33°C/s, it consisted of

The Metallographic Structure and Mechanical Properties of the Brazing Weld of 3003 Aluminum Alloy

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The microstructure and properties of brazing weld of 3003 Aluminum Alloy has been studied by using the methods of microstructure observation(SEM), and mechanical-ability was tested. The results showed that the tensile strength reaches 146.2MPa which is close to that of the parent metal.
