Adv Sci (Weinh)Hydrogen plasma smelting reduction enables direct, zero‐carbon conversion of low‐grade ilmenite into steel‐grade iron and a titania‐rich precursor for pigment production. The single‐step process merges smelting and refining, sharply lowers silica content, and offers a breakthrough path for sustainable, high‐value extraction from abundant mineral sands.
