The electroplating of a CrCoNi medium‐entropy alloy is achieved using a mixture of an ionic liquid and an aqueous solution containing metal salts. The CrCoNi medium‐entropy alloy thin film exhibits high wear and corrosion resistance superior to conventional hard chromium coatings. Abstract High‐entropy alloys (HEAs) and medium‐entropy alloys (MEAs) are

Electron states and magnetic phase diagrams of strongly correlated systems [PDF]
Various auxiliary-particle approaches to treat electron correlations in many-electron models are analyzed. Applications to copper-oxide layered systems are discussed. The ground-state magnetic phase diagrams are considered within the Hubbard and $s$-$d$ exchange (Kondo) models for square and simple cubic lattices vs.

The austenitic stainless steel AISI 316 L was ground using industrially common grinding belts to investigate the corrosion resistance of the resulting surfaces. Although all grinding belts produced comparable ground surfaces, differences in corrosion resistance were detected. The cause of the local corrosion susceptibility was identified and quantified

Colour Metallography of Cast Iron - Chapter 5: White Cast Iron (Ⅰ) [PDF]
Cast iron, as a traditional metal material, has advantages of low total cost, good castability and machinability, good wear resistance and low notch sensitivity, and is still facing tough challenge in quality, property and variety of types etc.

Modern Physics of the Condensed State: Strong Correlations and Quantum Topology [PDF]
The topic of the review is the application of new ideas of unconventional quantum states to the physics of condensed matter, in particular of solid state, in the context of modern field theory. A comparison is made with classical papers on many-electron theory, including the formalism of many-electron operators.

Hot tensile testing of low carbon microalloyed steel at 650 °C–1100 °C and strain rates of 10−2 s−1 and 10−3 s−1 revealed a ductility minimum at 700 °C–850 °C. Thick ferrite films at <700 °C led to ductile fracture, while thinner films in the 700 °C–850 °C range caused brittle intergranular fracture.

Observation on Reaction Mechanism of Lime Powder as Desulfurization Agent for Molten Cast Iron
The reaction layer between lime particles and molten cast iron is comprehensively analyzed as one of the key factors in sustaining the lime‐based desulfurization process. The findings indicate the involvement of silicon, aluminum, iron, oxygen, and sulfur in a complex interplay forming specific slag systems and precipitations regulated by their ...
