How eriophyid mites shape metal metabolism in leaf galls on Tilia cordata

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 246, Issue 5, Page 2222-2242, June 2025.
Summary Metal metabolism in plant–galler interactions is largely unknown. We hypothesise that the mites manipulate metal distribution by sequestration of excessive levels and differential regulation of metalloproteins to support the main functions of gall‐nutrition, protection and microenvironment.

Detection of SPM and IMP metallo-β-lactamases in clinical specimens of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from a Brazilian public tertiary hospital

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases
Phenotypic and genotypic SPM and IMP metallo-β-lactamases (MBL) detection and also the determination of minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) to imipenem, meropenem and ceftazidime were evaluated in 47 multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa ...

Seeing is believing; tracking metalloproteins by fluorescent probe in vivo and in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
no. EuAsC2S-12/S1-OP22Extensive genome research has shown that around 1/4 to 1/3 proteins are metalloproteins (or metal-binding proteins) with various metal ions incorporated with proteins for either structural or functional purposes.

Perspective: Multi-configurational methods in bio-inorganic chemistry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Transition metal ions play crucial roles in the structure and function of numerous proteins, contributing to essential biological processes such as catalysis, electron transfer, and oxygen binding. However, accurately modeling the electronic structure and properties of metalloproteins poses significant challenges due to the complex nature of their ...
