The role of new particle surfaces in synthesizing bulk nanostructured metallic materials by powder metallurgy

Materials Science & Engineering A: Structural Materials: Properties, Microstructure and Processing, 2009
Abstract The role of new particle surfaces in synthesizing bulk nanostructured metallic materials by consolidation of nanostructured powders and nanopowders is analysed by developing three simple mathematical equations for calculating the α factor for different thermomechanical powder consolidation processes such as hot pressing, high pressure ...

Secondary metals as raw materials for powder metallurgy

Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics, 1999
The possibility of using new technology based on the disintegrator milling method for utilizing metal chips of cast iron, high-alloy steels, nonferrous alloys (Al−Cu, Zn−Al, Cu−Zn), and used parts of hard metals based on tungsten carbide was investigated. The powders produced were used for corrosion- and wearresistant coatings having properties similar

Pressure-Sintering of Metal/Ceramic Friction Materials: A Special Process in Powder Metallurgy

Powder Metallurgy, 1966
Pressure-sintering, which combines the two basic steps of compacting and sintering, is described as applied to the production of facings consisting of a friction material bonded to a steel backplate. Details are given of special types of furnace developed for this purpose, including one which incorporates several novel features.
