Between Steel and Skin: Corporeal Colonization of Women Workers and Gendered Organizations in Heavy Industry

open access: yesGender, Work &Organization, Volume 33, Issue 5, Page 1658-1675, September 2026.
ABSTRACT “I felt as if my body was being occupied by the factory.” The words of one woman working in Turkey's heavy industry were repeated in many accounts, capturing how industrial infrastructures calibrated to male norms press directly into women's bodies.

Farming in the shadows of Rome: A multi‐proxy palaeoenvironmental record from Loch Clunie—Perthshire

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, Volume 41, Issue 6, Page 915-932, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Roman impacts on local society is a subject of international significance. Loch Clunie, Perthshire, lies only 5.4 km from Inchtuthil, the only Roman legionary fortress in Scotland, and contains two crannogs and a probable lakeside hillfort. Despite this proximity and the likelihood of local–Roman interaction, these sites remain unexcavated ...

Early immunopathological events in acute model of mycobacterial hypersensitivity pneumonitis in mice

open access: yesJournal of Immunotoxicology, 2017
Prolonged exposure to antigens of non-tuberculous mycobacteria species colonizing industrial metalworking fluid (MWF), particularly Mycobacterium immunogenum (MI), has been implicated in chronic forms of hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) in machinists ...

Management of Traumatic Penile Degloving Injury in a Resource‐Constrained Setting: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Genital degloving injuries from motorcycle accidents are uncommon, with most reported cases involving complete devascularisation requiring skin grafting. We present a 70‐year‐old male who presented to a rural health center following a high‐speed motorcycle accident with a unique distal pedicure circumferential penile skin avulsion.

Predominantly Orphan Secretome in the Lung Pathogen Mycobacterium abscessus Revealed by a Multipronged Growth-Phase-Driven Strategy

open access: yesMicroorganisms
The emerging lung pathogen Mycobacterium abscessus is understudied for its virulence determinants and molecular targets for diagnosis and therapeutics. Here, we report a comprehensive secretome (600 proteins) of this species, which was identified using a

Quality from Kent: Preliminary results from the analysis of fifth‐ to seventh‐century silver alloys

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue S4, Page S10-S38, July 2026.
Abstract This paper explores early results from the chemical and lead isotope analysis of 30 silver‐alloy objects from southeast England dating between the fifth and seventh centuries CE, presenting limited aspects of the three main analyses that were conducted. First, a comparison of the results gained from surface x‐ray fluorescence (pXRF) values and

The Provenance of Silver in the Viking‐Age Hoard From Bedale, North Yorkshire

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue S4, Page S86-S106, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The acquisition of silver was a key motive propelling the Viking expansion out of Scandinavia; identifying the sources of Viking silver during the early part of the Viking Age can provide critical insights into the relative significance of western European and eastern, Islamic wealth in the Viking expansion.

Development of a Generic Analysis Method for Isothiazolinones in Consumer Products Prompted by Increased Sensitisation to Benzisothiazolinone

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 95, Issue 1, Page 33-42, July 2026.
An analysis method using simple instrumentation was developed to investigate isothiazolinones in cosmetic and household products in patch test investigations. Analysis showed that concentrations of benzisothiazolinone can be several orders of magnitude higher than those of chloromethylisothiazolinone/methylisothiazolinone in products to which skin ...

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.
