SP1‐Mediated Glycolytic Reprogramming Promotes Tumorigenesis and Progression in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser capture microdissection‐based proteomics of pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN) identifies specificity protein 1 (SP1) as a key driver of tumorigenesis and progression in pancreatic cancer through glycolytic remodeling. SP1 enhances aerobic glycolysis by transcriptionally activating 6‐phosphofructo‐2‐kinase/fructose‐2,6‐bisphosphatase ...

A case of carcinoma of the breast with metaplasia to chondrosarcoma: Light microscopic and immunohistochemical features [PDF]

open access: yesArchive of Oncology, 2003
The breast carcinomas with metaplasia are rare neoplasms showing both carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements. We described clinical behavior radiology findings and pathological features in case of breast carcinoma with heterologous chondrosarcomatoid ...

Myeloid metaplasia of the breast

open access: yesAnnals of Oncology, 2001
Hereby, we present the case of a 50-year-old woman with 5-year history of chronic idiopathic myelofibrosis who was referred to our institution after she had noted a lump in the breast. Histological examination of the lesion removed from her left breast yielded the diagnosis of extramedullary hematopoiesis in the breast.

Spasmolytic Polypeptide-Expressing Metaplasia and Intestinal Metaplasia: Time for Reevaluation of Metaplasias and the Origins of Gastric Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesGastroenterology, 2010
Gastric adenocarcinoma of the intestinal type is believed to develop through a series of histopathologic stages, originally described by Correa, that include chronic gastritis, gastric atrophy, intestinal metaplasia, dysplasia and finally cancer (1).

Dual‐Pedicle Tissue‐Engineered Trachea Promotes Biomimetic Cartilaginous Framework, Vascularization, and Epithelial Lining for Long‐Segment Tracheal Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Overcoming the limitations of conventional grafts, a biomimetic trachea with two independent vascular pedicles enables rapid integration and sustained patency. This approach markedly improves survival rates, restores the epithelial barrier, and promotes regenerative pathways, presenting a transformative paradigm for clinical application.

Research advancements and evaluation of multifactor‐induced murine models for gastric cancer

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Murine models for gastric cancer. Abstract As one of the most prevalent gastrointestinal malignancies in humans, gastric cancer (GC) is often detected at an advanced stage, resulting in a poor prognosis and ranking it the fifth leading cause of cancer‐related deaths.

Taking Down the Primary Cilium: Pathways for Disassembly in Differentiating Cells

open access: yesBioEssays, EarlyView.
Primary cilia are developmentally essential subcellular signaling compartments. However, many differentiated cells lack primary cilia, and cilia disassembly in these tissue contexts has been largely overlooked. We highlight several pathways for primary cilia loss and examine how changes in ciliation states could contribute to diverse pathologies ...
