We present two female patients, aged 15 and 45 years, with synovial metaplasia of the skin. Both lesions, localized in the knee and hand respectively, arose after preceding local trauma. Case 1 had intradermal irregular cystic spaces in the adjacent myxoid stroma of which large polygonal eosinophilic cells were found.

Synovial Metaplasia in Lipoma

We present a unique case of a lipoma with widespread synovial metaplasia. A 52-year-old woman had a recurrence 1 year after excision of a subcutaneous lipoma of the neck. Histologically, the primary tumor was an ordinary lipoma. The recurrent tumor was a myxoid lipoma with synovial metaplasia.

Nephrogenic Metaplasia of the Ureter

We present what, to our knowledge, is the first reported case of nephrogenic metaplasia of the ureter. Nephrogenic metaplasia involves the transitional epithelium of the urinary tract and results in the formation of epithelial tubules, which are histologically similar to renal tubules.
