A Deep Intronic Splice Variant in COL1A1 Causing Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type II
ABSTRACT Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a rare disease, hallmarked by bone fragility, multiple fractures, and deformities, and is commonly caused by pathogenic variants in the genes encoding type I collagen. Type II OI is the most severe form and is lethal in the perinatal period. Here, we report recurrence of perinatal lethal OI in two fetuses due to

Using Neural Networks to Simulate the Alzheimer's Disease [PDF]
Making use of biologically plausible artificial neural networks that implement Grossberg’s presynaptic learning rule, we simulate the possible effects of calcium dysregulation in the neuron’s activation function, to represent the most accepted model of ...

The metaplastic effects of NMDA receptors blockade on reactivation of instrumental memories in rats [PDF]
Metaplasticity, defined as the plasticity of synaptic plasticity, could affect learning and memory at different neural levels. It was hypothesized that metaplasticity changes on glutamate receptors may affect memory destabilization, promoting or ...

Untersuchungen zur Modellierung und Schaltungsrealisierung von synaptischer Plastizitaet [PDF]
This manuscript deals with the analysis and VLSI implementation of adaptive information processing derived from biological measurements. Specifically, models for short term plasticity, long term plasticity and metaplasticity are derived from biological measurements and implemented in CMOS circuits.

Pleomorphic Adenoma in the Setting of Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer: A Case Report
ABSTRACT We report a case of a patient‐detected breast mass that revealed invasive carcinoma adjacent to a pleomorphic adenoma, which was treated with wide local excision. This case report highlights the importance of careful pathologic evaluation to guide appropriate local and systemic therapy and avoid the potentially harmful effects of overtreatment.

Reactive astrocytes release various molecules, which play a role in maintaining central nervous system (CNS) homeostasis. (1) Gliotransmitters, such as glutamate, γ‐aminobutyric acid (GABA), ATP, and D‐serine, are secreted by vesicular exocytosis. In addition, astrocytes can also release ATP and glutamate through (2) P2X7Rs, (3) connexin‐43 (Cx43 ...

A State of Mediocrity in Art [PDF]
Recently, art works that make trajectories in a situation fragmented by postmodernism as a reaction to modernism, have risen. They show trajectory of travels over different time and different space. Allochronic or multiplicity makes it possible.
