Comparative Digital Estrogen Receptor Alpha (ERα) Expression Analysis in Benign and Malignant Prostate Tissue of Men and Dogs

open access: yesThe Prostate, Volume 86, Issue 5, Page 568-581, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The dog is the only large mammal, other than humans, that commonly develops spontaneous prostate cancer (PCa) and is, therefore, considered a valuable model for comparative studies. Estrogens are critical for normal prostate development and contribute to prostatic carcinogenesis in men.

Cutaneous Immune‐Related Adverse Events and Efficacy of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors for Patients With Advanced Solid Organ Malignancies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dermatology, Volume 65, Issue 4, Page 790-796, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have significantly improved outcomes for patients with advanced solid tumors. While low‐grade immune‐related adverse events (irAEs) are associated with prolonged survival, high‐grade irAEs have been associated with poorer survival. Cutaneous immune‐related adverse events (cirAEs) affect up to 20%

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 3, Page 823-837, March 2026.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 3, Page 779-803, March 2026.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Sex as modifier of survival in patients with advanced urothelial cancer treated with pembrolizumab

open access: yesScientific Reports
Gender- and sex-based disparities in response to immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) has been reported in a variety of tumor types. Women have different anatomy with recurrent urinary tract infections, a different sex hormonal profile, and intrinsic ...

Expression of Nectin‐4 and Trop‐2 in upper tract urothelial carcinoma: implications for biomarker‐driven antibody‐drug conjugate therapy

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Recent advancements in antibody‐drug conjugates, including FDA‐approved therapies targeting Nectin‐4 and Trop‐2, have transformed the cancer treatment landscape, including upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). However, varied treatment effects and drug‐associated adverse effects raise the question of whether patients should be selected ...

Spatial heterogeneity of antibody–drug conjugate targets in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Abstract Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a lethal disease, with limited therapeutic options, few patients showing targetable molecular changes. New therapeutic strategies are necessary. Antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) have emerged as alternative therapeutic strategies across various cancer types. Herein, we analyze the expression and spatial
