High-efficiency transmissive metasurface for dual-polarized dual-mode OAM generation

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
In this paper, a high-efficiency dual-polarized transmissive metasurface is presented for the generation of dual-mode convergent orbital angular momentum (OAM) beams.

Phase‐shifted metasurface design for pseudo‐nondiffractive beam deflection

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2022
A transmission phase‐shifted metasurface (PSM) array has been proposed for non‐diffractive beam deflection. A PSM element consists of two identical semicircular rings and an I‐shaped structure, which is symmetrically printed on both sides of the F4B ...

A true metasurface antenna [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSURSI), 2016
AbstractWe present a true metasurface antenna based on electrically-small resonators. The resonators are placed on a flat surface and connected to one feed point using corporate feed. Unlike conventional array antennas where the distance between adjacent antennas is half wavelength to reduce mutual coupling between adjacent antennas, here the distance ...

Synchronized Electro‐Chromo‐Emissive Devices Using a Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductive Layer for XR Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single cell type Electro‐chromo‐emissive (ECECL) device integrating synchronized electrochromic (EC) and electrochemiluminescent (ECL) functions is developed using a mixed ionic‐electronic conductor (MIEC). A MIEC layer reduces ionic/electronic resistance, enabling ultrafast switching and enhanced optical contrast.

Broadband polarization conversion with anisotropic plasmonic metasurfaces

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Metasurfaces offer exciting opportunities that enable precise control of light propagation, optical intensity, phase and polarization. Plasmonic metasurface based quarter-wave plates have been recently studied to realize the conversion between linear ...

Recomposable Layered Metasurfaces for Wavelength‐Multiplexed Optical Encryption via Modular Diffractive Deep Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Modular diffractive deep neural network metasurfaces encode and reconstruct holograms across layer combinations and wavelengths, enabling secure, multifunctional operation. Each layer acts independently yet composes jointly, yielding up to m(2N −1) channels for m wavelengths and N layers.

Hyperbolic Shear Metasurfaces

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters
Polar dielectrics with low crystal symmetry and sharp phonon resonances can support hyperbolic shear polaritons - highly confined surface modes with frequency-dependent optical axes and asymmetric dissipation features. So far, these modes have been observed only in bulk natural materials at mid-infrared frequencies, with properties limited by available

Chiral SURMOFs for Vibrational Circular Dichroism: Multiscale Modeling and Experimental Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The use of solid‐state vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) for MOFs is still somewhat unexplored, and in this work, it is shown that chiral surface‐anchored MOFs (SURMOFs) grown on CaF2 provide an excellent platform for VCD. Experimental results are validated through multiscale modeling, showing strong agreement across multiple spectroscopic ...
