Evidence From Microscopy and U–Pb Geochronology as a Clue to the Influence of the Cretaceous Magmatism in the Diagenesis of Pre‐Salt Carbonate Reservoirs in the Santos Basin (Brazil)

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

Determination of meteor-head echo trajectories using the interferometric capabilities of MAARSY [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2013
During the flight of a meteoroid through the neutral atmosphere, the high kinetic energy is sufficient to ionize the meteoric constituents. Radar echoes coming from plasma irregularities surrounding the meteoroids are called meteor-head echoes, and ...

Geochemical and Geological Investigation of Skarn‐Type Pb–Zn Mineralization in Hastanetepe (Balya‐Balıkesir, Türkiye): An Approach Based on Fluid Inclusions, Sulphur Isotopes and Geochemical Data

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Integrated petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical data from the Hastanetepe Pb–Zn deposit (Balya, Türkiye) reveal multi‐stage hydrothermal alteration and a magmatic sulphur source. Fluid inclusion and sulphur isotope results indicate a complex fluid evolution responsible for skarn‐type Pb–Zn mineralization along limestone–dacite contacts ...

Disintegration and Skipping Dynamics of Bilobate‐Shaped Meteoroids for Generating Ultra‐Long Strewn Fields

open access: yesEarth and Space Science
The longest known Aletai meteorite belt presents a unique phenomenon in meteoroid dynamics. To investigate its formation mechanism, this study introduces a bilobate‐shaped meteoroid model, emphasizing aerodynamic interactions and structure evolution. The

An introduction to the Meteor and ionospheric Irregularity Observation System and its preliminary results

open access: yes地球与行星物理论评
Meteoroids entering the Earth's atmosphere lose most of their mass during atmospheric passage and considerably disturb the background ionosphere. To elucidate better the effects of meteoroids on the near-Earth space environment, it is important to ...

A time-resolved model of the mesospheric Na layer: constraints on the meteor input function [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2004
A time-resolved model of the Na layer in the mesosphere/lower thermosphere region is described, where the continuity equations for the major sodium species Na, Na+ and NaHCO3 are solved explicity, and the other short-lived species are treated in steady ...

GLOBAL STATISTICS OF BOLIDES IN THE TERRESTRIAL ATMOSPHERE

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2017
Purpose: Evaluation and analysis of distribution of the number of meteoroid (mini asteroid) falls as a function of glow energy, velocity, the region of maximum glow altitude, and geographic coordinates.

Cratering of a comet nucleus by meteoroids [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Space Research, 1999
Abstract The two-dimensional axisymmetric hydrocode model of free particles is applied to the calculation of response of a comet nucleus to a meteorite impact. The nucleus is assumed to be spherical with a radius of 1 km. It is composed of a porous granular mixture of water ice and of mineral. Initial temperature is 50 K.

Insights into Red Deer Ecology during the Late Epigravettian: New isotopic evidence from Riparo Tagliente (Italian Prealps)

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract The transition from the Last Glacial Maximum to the Late Glacial marked a shift from the cold conditions of Greenland Stadial‐2 (GS‐2) to the warmer phases of Greenland Interstadial‐1 (GI‐1), enabling the reoccupation of Alpine regions by Late Palaeolithic hunter‐gatherers.
