The impact of a northern peatland on the earth’s radiative budget: sustained methane emission versus sustained carbon sequestration [PDF]
Northern peatlands sequester carbon and emit methane, and thus have both cooling and warming impacts on the climate system through their influence on atmospheric burdens of CO2 and CH4.

This research aimed to enhance the accuracy of methane (CH₄) emissions estimates from natural wetlands by integrating satellite observations and advanced modeling techniques. Wetlands are among the largest natural sources of CH₄. However, current estimates carry large uncertainties due to the spatial and temporal variability of wetland characteristics.

ABSTRACT In the hydrogen production routes from natural gas (methane), methane pyrolysis offers a cleaner option than the established steam methane reforming by producing CO2‐free hydrogen. However, in fixed bed reactors over solid catalysts, this technology experiences rapid catalyst deactivation due to carbon (coke) deposition encapsulating its ...

ABSTRACT Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have emerged as one of the most critical drivers of climate change; this is primarily due to high concentrations and long atmospheric life of carbon dioxide (CO2). For a significant amount of time, various biological processes such as microalgal cultivation, cyanobacterial systems, photosynthetic microorganisms ...

A Metagenome‐Assembled Genome Catalog From the Global Ruminant Microbiomes
The Ruminant Gastrointestinal MAG Catalog (RGMC) is a comprehensive global resource offering 40,812 strain‐level genomes across 53 bacterial and 4 archaeal classes. It greatly surpasses prior efforts in scale and diversity, serving as an essential foundation for research in ruminant nutrition, microbial function, and methane mitigation.

How to Understand and Promote Sustainable Dairy Development?
ABSTRACT Sustainable dairy development is crucial for global food security, as it converts feed resources into nutrient‐dense human food while supporting soil fertility through manure recycling. Milk provides high‐quality protein and essential micronutrients, yet rising production demands have intensified challenges related to animal welfare and ...

Coastal methane emissions triggered by ship passages
Estuarine and coastal areas are important sources of methane emitted to the atmosphere through diffusion or ebullition. These processes can be triggered by pressure changes and water column mixing, which can be induced by ships. However, the contribution

A sustainable business ecosystem: a case study demonstrating biochar's potential
Abstract The need for renewable, climate‐friendly resources has become urgent as legislators worldwide have sought to find ways to cut emissions while ensuring resource security for consumers. The use of biochar could help to achieve these goals. This study examines the current state of commercial biochar production and the maturity of the related ...
