One‐way FLAC3D‐COMSOL coupled modeling and field validation show that a 150 mm borehole radius with 5 m spacing provides the best coordination of plastic‐zone expansion, stress relief, permeability enhancement, and gas‐pressure attenuation, increasing the pure gas drainage rate by 35.4%. ABSTRACT To rationally determine the borehole radius and borehole

Experimental Study of Explosion Limits of Refrigerants and Lubricants’ Mixture
The explosion limits of refrigerants and lubricants’ mixture were studied. The refrigerants like R161, R1234yf and R152a are combustible. Lubricants, to a certain extent, are combustion-supporting.

Study and Analysis of Shock Wave Propagation in Excavation Laneway during Methane Explosion
Coal mine can be damaged by extremely strong methane explosion, and the importance of suppressing anti-methane explosion in coal mine production safety is self-evident. The basic assumptions are used to analyze the shock wave propagation and the strength

Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.

Osmosis Drives Explosions and Methane Release in Siberian Permafrost
AbstractMysterious craters, with anomalously high concentrations of methane, have formed in the Yamal and Taymyr peninsulas of Siberia since 2014. While thawing permafrost owing to climate warming promotes methane releases, it is unknown how such release might be associated with explosion and crater formation.
